Mark Anthony Lord is an internationally recognized spiritual leader, founder and spiritual director of the Chicago Center for Spiritual Living, and the author of The Seven Living Words - An Illuminated Perspective on the Seven Last Words f Jesus. A gifted and dynamic speaker, he offers fresh perspectives on sacred wisdom teachings. Mark Anthony’s training is based in New Thought/Ancient Wisdom philosophies. He was first licensed at Unity School of Christianity. As a student of Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith, he received his Masters in Religion & Consciousness studies at Agape International Spiritual Center.

Who am I to be a Spiritual teacher and leader of our time? I always figured spiritual teachers spent years meditating in caves, memorized a great holy book or two, and had that mystical dream where God itself appeared at the foot of their bed telling them they are called to lead, guide and heal the world. Surely they would have at least long conquered cravings for sugar, sex and other material trappings of this world. My path was plagued with addictions, relationship bleeps and blunders, obsessions for people places and things I thought would make me whole, and a string of unfulfilled desires – a few inspired but mostly not. And yet, here I am, deeply knowing I am a divine emanation of Spirit, innocent and free. I know the Truth about myself and others, that we are powerful beyond belief, loved and adored by God (Life, Source, Universe . . . whatever you wish), and that we can never do, say or be anything that would put us out of the Unconditional Love of Spirit. I know this. I believe it, and I guess I have the blessed incarnation to teach what I also need to learn (which is what we all do, by the way).

So, who am I to be a spiritual teacher and leader of our time? I am that, I am – no greater or lesser than anyone. I am about helping people discover their own divinity and stop looking outside to others. I am about helping people become free from the chains and painful cycles of victim-consciousness. I am here to take a stand for Peace, Love, Oneness, Compassion & forgiveness. And, these attributes of Spirit must begin within us. If we want to see Peace in the world we must have Peace in our hearts and minds. The same is true for anything else. It’s about doing the inner work necessary so that we can become a channel for its appearance in our world.
Mostly, I am here to serve and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit within me, which I hear often. Obedience to the wisdom and guidance within is not easy in the beginning, but once you start to trust and see the results of your trusting, well, there’s nothing like it.
I am here for you, for me, for all. Let’s lay down our shame, blame and persecution of ourselves and others together. I’ll lead, sometimes we’ll walk side by side, and sometimes I’ll follow. What I commit to is staying on the path.
